Earth Adventures are a treasure trove of 33 exciting and educational adventures for families on local trails in Kings and Halifax Counties. Each adventure is carefully crafted to provide you with all the information, activities, and themes you need for an unforgettable experience.

Adventure Kits

Adventure kits are full of wonderful tools to help you on each Earth Adventure. You will receive a kit with a beautiful map of all Earth Adventures in Nova Scotia, stickers to be placed when you complete an adventure, nature journals, pencils, sponges to help you smell better, and a magnifying lens to help you see the magic close up!

The first 75 families to register will receive an Adventure Kit! They can be picked up at your local library: Wolfville, Kentville, and Berwick!

When you complete 4 of the 8 Earth Adventures in Kings County and share on your social media, tagging us, you are entered in a draw to win one of our magical prizes!

What Is Involved

Step 1

Register for yourself or family

Step 2

Pick up your Adventure Kit at the Berwick, Kentville, or Wolfville libraries.

Step 3

Kids
Go on as many Earth Adventures in Kings County as you can! *you need 4 to be entered in our draw for prizes

Step 5

Celebrate at our BBQ and receive your certificates and gifts...and maybe one of our great prizes

Step 4

Take a photo of the final treasure plaque or of your favourite part of the trail and submit it through social media
  1. Registration is open from August 21 - October 1, 2023 online. The Challenge officially begins on September 1, 2023.
  2. If registering for more than 1, please include all names of participants on the registration form to be entered in final draw.
  3. Proof of registration is required to receive an Adventure Kit from a library. You can show your confirmation message.

EARTH ADVENTURER CHALLENGE

September 1st - October 15th, 2023

 

Challenge Details:

 

 

Registration opens August 21st

Challenge runs from Sept 1st -Oct 15th.

 

Earth Adventurers are encouraged to complete 4 of the 8 Adventures located in Kings County. Bonus points if the new Canning adventure is completed!

Adventurers will receive a downloadable log sheet to help them keep track.

 

There will be 4 guided EAs offered which can be included in the challenge. 

September 9 - Canning

September 23 - Kingston

October 1 - New Minas

October 14 - Wolfville

 

Social Media Promotion: 

Adventurers are asked:

  1. Complete an Earth Adventure in Kings County

  2. Snap a ‘groupie’ in front of the plaque or share a favourite picture from the trail.

  3. Share it on social media with the hashtags: #soarintonature #earthadventures2023

  4. Tag @flyingsquirreladventures in the post


 

All Adventurers will receive (certificate & badge & stuffie) when they complete the challenge. 

 

Of those who complete the challenge, they will be entered into a draw to win 1 or 3 prizes:

 

Prizes include:

  • Ross Creek March Break camp bursary 2024

  • Flying Squirrel Adventures Bursary 2024
